Re: Leeds

Looks ok but possibly a bit "young" for most us: we're not all whippersnappers, Jim :(

Leeds

Not seen anything about Leeds mentioned yet but how about http://www.northbar.com/beer.php Looks as if there'll be something there to please everyone and for those of us who were on the Belgium tour last year we can sup a few large Jupiler and Krieks and reminisce about Bruges!! Sid may even find so...

Re: CAMBRIDGE CORN EXCHANGE

I agree with Dale - The Bath House is a better layout. Is it settled then, boys and girls ? 8) Do the sell 'creamflow' bitter....tetleys, boddies???? Rodders It's a Greene King pub so they might only serve proper bitter like IPA and Abbot - if you're lucky, Rodders, then they may have bowed to cock...

Re: CAMBRIDGE CORN EXCHANGE

The Bath House or The Eagle both down Benet Street about 30 secs from the venue. Probably the Bath House is better as The Eagle is lots of little rooms although the beer always used to be top notch but if we're having a gathering of the family then it'll be easier to do in the Bath House.

Re: CAMBRIDGE CORN EXCHANGE

I like my bitter at cellar temperature and hand-pulled rather than "smooth" like some

Re: CAMBRIDGE CORN EXCHANGE

Is the Vache Rouge* now just the Vache? What a let down! I suggested the Earl of Derby to Rodders when we went to see SLF at the Junction earlier in the year because it had really good beer but he moaned like f*ck because it wasn't that cold, smooth stuff! * Pretentious, moi? Actually not, it...

Re: Dublin

Right, only 2 weekends to go so who's going and where does anyone recommend we meet up? We're flying out on the Saturday morning and making a bit of a weekend of it - we've got a hotel right in the centre opposite the Post Office where the Easter Rising started, apparently, plenty of sights and place...

Recently did a week at the Edinburgh Fringe and a shame Frankie Boyle wasn't on as he is on fire at the moment on MTW. Although obviously you can't see anywhere near everything you'd want to in 7 days at Edinburgh we did take in 20-odd shows and my fave comedy shows were "Count Arthur Strong - ...

I loved them, a fantastic live band who also made some great albums and with "Big Decision" and "Hey Venus" should have had a couple of huge hit singles! For those of you who don't really know their stuff but are aware of The Undertones work, think of how songs like "You've ...

I know he's not one to celebrate his birthday and will probably try and shrug it off as "just another day" but this man is a legend, a great, a god; whoever said that there were "No More Heroes" got it very wrong in this case and we in the "family" will celebrate and h...

In Bruges (on DVD) - saw it at the cinema when it came out and thought it was good, watched it again and think it's a classic. Rervoir Dogs meets Father Ted with a psycho dwarf on an acid trip during an orgy and the bird who plays Fleur Delacourt in the Harry Potter movies as the drug dealing "...
