Re: Damned Original Reunion on the cards?
…a song I didn't know (Pills by Bo Diddley according to setlist.fm)… I think track was ‘Rock En Roll Chicken’, a reworking (new lyrics) originally by the Babysitters of Bo Diddley ‘s Pills? Nice one, cheers, I'd not heard it before. Music is identical, slight difference in lyrics. And I could be wr...

Re: Damned Original Reunion on the cards?
Really enjoyable night of nostalgia, I spent too long in the pub so missed the only new band, Smalltown Tigers (who were on at 1830), but caught all of TV Smith, who ripped through a classic set of Adverts. Skids, as always were really good, with Jobbo on top form (they never quite captured how good...

Re: Damned Original Reunion on the cards?
The booze selection is shite and when you complain about the ridiculous beer prices they look at you like "don't like it, don't buy it" which is great and all but c'mon this is supposed to be entertaining fun night out. Top be fair the stranglers are pretty much the only band I follow tha...

Re: Dark Matters Vs Suite XVI
I think the DM v Suite comparison's been exhausted with each to their own on it all but my last summary on this topic would be that they are both very good albums in their own different right but my last comparison from the both would be which track would stand the test of time as your favourite fr...

Re: Dark Matters Vs Suite XVI
This is a really hard one to vote (IMO), both S16 and DM comfortably make my top 10 Stranglers albums, but I’m not sure which I prefer.
I think overall S16 edges it, followed by DM (then NC close behind)

Suzie Stapleton: We are the Plague
I’ve just bought this album (her debut album released a couple of years back, and featuring Jim on drums), and I must say, it’s really good. I wish I’d bought it earlier. The album is well structured and ordered, with a good flow to the songs and nice variation. I’m only on my second listen and thin...

Re: Birmingham
To my mind it's the same thing. The only difference is that the likes of Straighten Out don't pretend they're anything more than a tribute act. To quote Lt Kudo …people who have been going since the early 80s are still enjoying the gigs, they can't be fooled, it's still the Stranglers… But there ar...

Re: Birmingham
I find it strange preferring a tribute act (no matter how good), when the vastly better Stranglers are still going, but each to theIr own. To my mind it's the same thing.
