Re: Round the dinner table

I'd have Martin Amis, Clive James and Christopher Hitchens (from the famous Friday Lunch Club described by all three in memoirs.) JJ, the obvious but still best choice. Irish comedian Tommy Tiernan who I could listen to all day. Billy Connolly, 'nuff said. From fiction, John Self ( Money by Martin A...

Re: The EU : Do we stay or do we go ?

Yes, it is a silly question, wise up In what way? You don't think there will be referendums or that they'll vote to stay? I can see Irish unification being a 'hard sell' but not Scottish independence so much. Scotland already voted No to independence. The idea that Scotland voted to remain in Europ...

Re: The EU : Do we stay or do we go ?

As with all elections or referendums (referenda), most voters, if they vote at all, won't have carefully studied the finer points of the arguments for and against. It will be a vote for what your 'gut feeling' tells you or a simplistic assessment of how the result might affect your personal circumst...

Re: The Vibrators...

I haven't got any of their stuff are any of their albums any good? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk First album is great- Old School punk, second V2 is even better. They never seemed to take off as I thought they might. Saw them live promoting V2 but the attendance was pretty low although their...

Re: Last night I had a dream....

I've been told that if you tell a dream to a listener three times, the meaning will reveal itself. I've tried it and it worked but my partner was doing an educational course at the time. Good luck with finding a dis-interested listener to accommodate you. As writers say, "Tell a dream, lose a r...

Re: Muse tonight

What Suprises did they play in Glasgow? Yes on a totally different playing field to The Stranglers, in a way i'm glad they never made it that big though. Can't stop listening to my Drones CD now!. The biggest surprise was Munich Jam with Chris and Dom being joined by a lone bagpiper and a troupe of...

Re: Muse tonight

Saw them in Glasgow tonight.

Incredible show, incredible band, Matt Bellamy is near-genius.

On a whole different planet from what the Stranglers do.
