Re: Worst song on Coup De Crap / Coup Disgrace
For me, a definitive low point in the Stranglers is “Miss You”. Musically awful but to my mind, the sad fact is that they were so lacking in interest by this point, they failed to notice they had a song with the same title on the previous album. The sort of situation that could have been a deleted s...

Re: The Clash
Im not sure if that was mainly their audience or The Who’s? A bit like Wembley 1979 for the MiB? I have always found The Clash overrated but have made the effort to listen, particularly the London Calling album. That has it’s moments - I love Train In Vain - but in comparison to Stranglers material ...

Hi Jim
Just to echo what Dom said, thanks for keeping it all going.
We take these things for granted but thanks for giving us all this place

Re: greetings for the seasons
A poo cover. Unique marketing. I like it. To be fair, I had just dug them out of my parents cupboard where they had been sleeping for the last 30 years! Luckily the contents seem sound.... Where’s JJ? I have hidden a subtle little picture of him (from an issue of Strangled!) in among all the singles...

Re: greetings for the seasons
Happy Xmas to all Here's something to keep you entertained for 1/2/4/16/32/64/128/42/43/44/46/47/48/49/49.1/...... seconds, depending on how much you've had to drink today. I did this a couple of days ago, to cheer up a couple of good friends. Threw some of my old singles on the ground . Where's JJ ...

Genius is an overused word.
But so apt to describe Stewart.
I listen to him nearly every day. He has an album on Spotify and some longer clips on Youtube

Discovered this album on Spotify today, just released this week.
If you like your post punk, this might appeal to you.
Reminded me a bit of Killing joke meets the Editors, with some unique vocals thrown in.
Shame- Songs Of Praise

Re: Spotify
I have the family version, 5 subsciptions for £14.99. Like Jim I have discovered so much through it. Just reading the latest Baz interview, with the ACDC , Neil Young albums he mentioned, you can listen to it immediately. I would however say that I make a point of buying CDs by new bands if I like t...

Re: 2018 new albums
Love Simple Minds but frankly Im dreading the new album. They have won back many of their fans in the last 5 years, with a recognition of the earlier material that made them popular, before they got lost in stadium waffle. Now, they've ditched the drummer and keyboard player, and I believe we can ex...

Making Plans for XTC - stay up for the Partridge !
In my opinion the UK most inventive group.
If you are wanting something to watch this Saturday night, Sky Arts has an XTC documentary.
There is so much more to them than "Making Plans For Nigel".
Genius is an overused word, but actually underused in their case.
