Re: New Rat Chat out
Mk1 into the 1990s and beyond might have been a car crash, or really interesting. But it would have need all four of them want it and not phone it in. It's tempting to think that if MKI had stuck together through the '90s then the Britpop years may have been kind to them - they WERE getting cited a...

Re: Baz interview 24th December
Very interesting insight and a possible hint to what Baz might do post-Stranglers

Re: White Stallion
The more I think about it, the more I would be curious of a Paul-led version of Stallion. I think his vocal style would suit well to the grand theatrics of it

Re: White Stallion
From looking at the footage, I think the song would have benefited alot live if Paul was around as a 5 piece. It looked awkward with JJ half gesturing with his hands instead of them being on the bass. But with a separate lead singer, he would be free to play some extra basslines or something whilst ...

Re: No Hugs ...
Wouldn't put past them for just the keyboard player to show up and let his playing do the talking. No introduction needed

Re: dark matters chart chances
Generally all albums have a downward trend as they go except for singles or the ones that happens to be used elsewhere (in films or tv etc). I wouldn't look into it that much tbh. I'd imagine there's a chunk of Spotify users who'd only listen to generated playlists and radios rather than sit down wi...

Re: dark matters chart chances
Does Spotify show the number of plays of all Stranglers Albums? Can you share a link please? I'd love to see a ranking, but can never find it? It does if you use their PC application instead of web player. I can screenshot some of them for you... Dark Matters.PNG Not too shabby so far. For comparis...

Re: dark matters chart chances
Dark Matters will probably be The Stranglers worst selling album. Simple reason hardly anyone 'buys' albums anymore, so the 15,000 or so it sold pre-release gets it to 4. I don't know what the cut off for making the top 100 each week is in terms of actual sales maybe a few hundred?? So even these a...

Re: Dark Matters v Giants
With DM, it feels the format changed at least. From Norfolk to Giants, they all kinda followed a similar template of starting with aggressive rock 'n roll, some pastiche jazz/melancholic number in the middle and then go out with rocking bangers albeit slightly more contemplative

Re: All killer no filler'?
Ehh I'd never expect anything to be "all killer, no filler". Seems prone to setting yourself up for disappointment.
