Re: Summer gigs
I realise the uk tour is geared around the anniversary next year - but I find it a bit weird that they are playing festivals this summer but seem to have made a policy decision not to play any here! Why would that be?!

It is the old Colston Hall. Currently nearing the end of a £120 million pound renovation that’s taken 5 years. Don’t think it reopens until the summer. So for that money you’d hope it will be an improvement!

Re: Baz's side project - WINGMEN
Paul Gray’s bass playing is fantastic the more I listen to the songs the more I’m picking out the bass lines running all over the place. Very Entwhistle. There are a couple of ‘ranty’ ones but there are some really good catchy tunes in there and good playing by all. I’m really liking it.

This album is far better than j was expecting. Some absolutely cracking songs on it. Have been listening on Spotify today - it’s really very good.

Re: BBC series
To be fair they did play Something Better Change over the end credits - which was a bit bizarre - and unexpected!

Cardiff
Decided to do the Cardiff gig as it was at the motor point arena. Would have easily sold out -the Levellers are playing it soon surely a smaller draw than the Stranglers. Fast forward to tonight- what an absolutely terrible venue. What were the management thinking? I really wish I hadn’t bothered- l...

And since - Last Man on the Moon, Tank , Straighten Out, Bear Cage, Baroque Bordello Nubiles and Genetics amongst others. Plus a bit of Siouxsie and Killing Jone. Fair play.

Just walked in to the Hatchet (nearest pub to the venue) and they were playing White Stallion - now The Raven - cool!

Re: Tour Start Tonight enjoy at Sunny Lincoln.
Back to the tour - I’m a bit bemused why JJ has to use a backing track for White Stallion? I realise the version on the album is synthesised but it’s not exactly hard to play the actual notes. I don’t really get it? Even if it gave the song a different feel playing live bass would that matter? Can’t...

Re: No Hugs ...
Unfortunately at least the Academy venues haven’t updated the guidance since December - at least those are the versions the links from the official site take you to. So they still talk about plan B being in force which of course it won’t be from Monday. Not very helpful really until they update them...

Re: No Hugs ...
O2 venues have been requiring proof of vaccine on the nhs app (or proof of negative lft) since October way before it became mandatory under the “plan B” restrictions Most venues/theatres etc also have been doing this. The fact the government has said it’s no longer mandatory doesn’t mean the venues ...
