I don't mind the song, it's not shite.
But the video? got to be the cheesiest thing the band have ever put out.

Pistols followed by Buzzcocks. Stranglers only did a few punk songs if you filter down the first few albums.

Re: What is your current Covid employment state?
Sadly I've just been made redundant after being furloughed since March. It's not ideal, but it's not all been doom and gloom, as the utter enjoyment of being off work for months has actually been quite lovely. I worked for a charity which dealt with many, many care homes across the spectrum and a m...

Springsteen
Used to slag him off all the time, but I think a lot of his stuff is just a victim of the production trends at the time (sound familiar).
A colleague has been bangin' on about him for ages and took the trouble to make me a playlist. He's a pretty good song writer.

Re: Just strap on your guitar and we'll play some rock 'n' roll
It's fantastic. Don't buy an electromatic one. Chinese made, they are built well but not the same. souless My mate has a 50's one. Real deal. Mine is very different but, as he said, has it's own expression and feel. I can get somelovely warm feedback from it and it's really nicely weighted. And it ...

I have quite a few 1957 Les Paul Junior 2008 Gretsch 6120 1953 ES-295 Fender tele historic thingy - 1952 spec. Swapped for a dodgy amp - got lucky there! SG-X - my first new gibson. Wonderful beast! Gibson 335 - bought in USA. It's a beaut! Ricky 330 Epihone Coronet (pre Gibson) Guild S-60 Les Paul...

Re: Just strap on your guitar and we'll play some rock 'n' roll
This was a novel thread. Always been a bass player but I play more and more guitar now. I've got a fender telecaster and a shaftsbury rick copy - both lovely. I used to echo most people's sentiments on here about Gibson Explorers, but the guitarist in my band plays one and I have to say, they''re a ...

Re: WHAT THE FCUK ARE YOU LOT LISTENIN TO - When it's not the fucking Stranglers??!
That's the best track on Dogrel IMO. Not keen on the rest of it - Big is alright but I find his vocals feckin annoying on some of the songs. Jim That's a big part of their appeal to me there Jim. Any front man always gets bonus points for singing in their actual accent rather than american or those...

Fontaines D.C. - The Boys From The Betterland 8) I'll second that. Dogrel is album of the year so far for me (and the earlier versions of the same songs recorded I much prefer too) and the gig they did earlier in the year at Gorilla in Manchester is the best I've been to in a long, long time. Get o...
