Re: New Damned Album 2023

On my 2nd listen. I think it is a good album. Some nice guitar work from Sensible throughout. I like the 60's influenced pop vibe of it as well.

Re: Favourite album and why

Black and White was the first Stranglers album I bought and fell in love with. I knew then that I had found my band. However for me it has to be the Raven. So inventive and creative. I never get bored of it. For me the period from Black and White to La Folie was when the band were at their creative ...

Re: Christine McVie RIP

Getting back on topic after my Todd Rundgren comment. I quite like the post Peter Green stuff up to and including Tusk. I think Christine McVie wrote some very good songs and was saddened by this news.

Re: Christine McVie RIP

I was a bit sad to hear the news of McVie passing, she didn't seem to be the type to suffer fools gladly and seemed to be a bit of a no-nonsense personality while at the same time writing these beautifully crafted pop songs. I'm quite partial to bit of 1975-1987 era Mac, especially Tusk which has s...

Re: Pink Floyd the great divider for Stranglers fans

I'm sure Hugh is a fan. He has mentioned them a few times over the years. I really like their music . I think Stan in black is spot on in his choice of which are the good albums. I saw the Waters and Gilmour led line ups during the 80's. Recently saw Nick Mason's saucerful of secrets. They were very...

Re: The Stranglers - Rat Chat #8

I would think J.J. will want to keep things going for at least 2 more years in order to celebrate the 50th anniversary.

Re: Dark Matters - Initial Thoughts/Reviews

I have, on occasion, been critical of post Hugh line-ups. However, this is a very fine album. Love This song, No man's land and Breathe. Like most I'm not too fussed about The lines and Down but they take up very little of the running time anyway. On the whole, a job well done.

Re: Glastonbury 2019

Found Kylie and the Killers quite entertaining but a bit cheesy and thought the Cure were o.k. For me , probably the worst Glastonbury ever.
