Re: Who is britians best ever punk band!

Two bands not mentioned so far (I think) but whilst not 'the best' are right up there IMO. My friends and I played their LPs to death down the local youth club back in the day: The Rezillos: Always good fun, 'sci-fi' punk maybe. 'Can't stand the....' is a great album. Still put on a good show. The V...

Re: The Great CD vs Vinyl debate

My first copy of DM on red vinyl was warped and had surface scuffs. Returned it to Townsend music two weeks ago and haven't heard from them since. After sending it back they ran out of red vinyl, so I got one off ebay which is fine. I'm also now on my 3rd black vinyl copy of DM after the first two w...

Re: Dark Matters - Second Thoughts

My first post for years. Interesting to read the different reviews of DM on here - plenty of contrasting opinions which is always a good thing. For what it's worth I think the album is an absolute cracker! A huge relief after the long wait following the underwhelming Giants. I love the inventiveness...

Re: New Order: Double CD Remix Dance album 'Complete Music'

Been an on & off fan of New Order over the years, but I think the Music Complete album is actually their best album. This remix album is even better! In a world when 'remix' means stripping all heart & soul out of a song so it becomes a sub-standard & unrecognisable twiddly-knob ego-wank...

Re: David Bowie

Saw a facebook post next to a picture of Donald Trump. It said 'Dear God, you've taken away the wrong 69 year old'. Surprized by how much David Bowie's death has affected me, I've been really glum since I heard. Like many have said, he's not their favourite artist, nor was he mine but I think he jus...

Re: Top albums of 2015

Best album of the year for me is New Order's 'Music Complete' - great return to form after a few patchy albums. Also, 'Modern Blues' by The Waterboys easily stands up to their back catalogue. Saw them live for the first time as well - great gig! Zero' by The Rezillos also impressed, as did 'The Ligh...

Re: Private Messaging

Blimey! Just logged on after a busy day and all this has happened! For my part I had a couple of PMs from members showing support to my stance against Stevie T and I replied thanking them. I later got a couple of PMs from Stevie which were not nearly as provocative as his public posts but I chose to...

Re: Knee jerk reactions to the terrorist attacks in Paris

to Stevie.T-'up north': You really haven't got a clue, have you? Well let me tell you. I have no problem with people who disagree with what I post. It's the way that YOU in particular disagree that really pisses me off - and others it seems. Not just jonimac on this thread, but plenty elsewhere who ...

Re: Knee jerk reactions to the terrorist attacks in Paris

Isis are not Muslims.... Good grief. A wolf in sheep's clothing is not a sheep. A Muslim following the demands of his Islamic holy book to the letter is a Muslim, no matter how uncomfortable to fact is to acknowledge. Wishing he'd behave otherwise because it would help you deal with the hard facts ...
