Re: Would you see The Stranglers without JJ?

And for a night out etc, it's fine but if there are NO originals then it's a bit on the rich side

Re: Tour Epitaph

Fair point. I think you have to have your own opinion on what the criteria is. For me it is artisitic input and tenure. Baz has done both. Jim, a wee bit - tenure but not much artistically (he's a drummer after all!!!! ) Toby nowt. But if Toby were to put in a good shift, why not? Look at New...

Its obviously, isn't but that doesn't changed the experience for the audience.
I don't think they do. I certainly have not had that impression.

But they are still The Stranglers

Re: Tour Epitaph

Personally, I see Baz, Toby and Jim as stand-ins for the proper guys who can't or won't be there. Actually, that's a bit too charitable. They're employees of "JJB&F Inc." I think it's rather rude to Baz to say that considering his input over the yeras. Maybe the other guys are "e...

Re: 50th Anniversary Setlist?

Stan just hits a nerve. We could critise the band in other ways, like how bad 10 is or how brass section was a mistake, without anyone claiming its insulting the stranglers or a sign of not being a real fan. The curent tour or album is always sacred. Like they are the lady di of the stranglers hist...

Re: 50th Anniversary Setlist?

I still think of the football analogy when this nonsemse comes up. People feverishly support the same team which changes all the time yet can't accept when a band does. Imagine expecting the Liverpool of 1977 to be the same as 2024 (cue jokes, c'mon!!!) Of course it's not the same! Of course it's no...
