Re: Best albums of 2020
The only 2020 albums of new material I've bought are: Blancmange - Mindset, Blancmange - Waiting Room Vol 1 (although that's a compilation of unreleased stuff) Grimes - Miss Anthropocene Sparks - A Steady Drip Drip Drip The The - Muscle (soundtrack) Wolfhounds - Electric Music. I think the winners ...

Re: Belated happy 85th Birthday to the Killer aka Jerry Lee
Yes they are, yes the thing with his young bride nearly ruined his career, he went from earning thousands a night to a few hundred dollars, but kept on and not excusing his young bride, but in the deep south where Jerry Lee was born, it was common for women to marry young as life expectancy was sho...

Re: Who is britians best ever punk band!
Well if the Stranglers were "punk" for the first 3 albums then they were the best ever without a doubt ! If they were never punk then I don't know. I liked the Pistols but they didn't do a lot, only what 1 or 2 albums ? But yes their sound was great. What about the other big 2 ie Jam &...

Re: straighten out best tribute band ever.
Some great covers. Very talented, good luck to him. I rate him / them because they are not just a bunch of old stranglers fans like Straighten Out having a good time on stage, but because he /they are young, nail every bloody note, and make the songs sound fresh again. The "Antifa" look, ...

Re: Damned Original Reunion on the cards?
Would a MGE set with Algy Ward be a reasonable request, or is that a non starter?. Not really sure what the reasosns were for that separation. When i spoke to Algy after a Tank gig i was lead to believe that Rat was one of the main reasons he left. Been watching the Damned Show videos on YT. Sensib...

Re: Ginger Baker RIP-possibly the greatest drummer ever?
Are we playing out the plot from the Crucible? Is this the scene from Silence of the Lambs where I beckon the fluffy poodle over? I think if it looks like malignant narcissism and it feels like malignant narcissism....there's a good chance it is malignant narcissism. I'm just wondering which one of...
