Re: RAH
Yes I get the feeling the RAH know their worth - or overstate their worth - and insist on big fees for filming. It put off The Damned a few years back. In fact the venues wanting a big cut of this and that (despite the band filling the venue and subsequent drink sales) is abhorrent.

Re: Bristol
I wonder what the financial repercussions of cancelling the RAH were. I know they probably have insurance but still.

Re: Bristol
You can't just decide on a whim that other band members will take the vocals for the whole show. For a start they have to play their existing parts which may run contrary to the vocals. Not to mention not knowing the words.
I'm sure every effort will be made to play the RAH even if Baz is only 80%.

Re: Killing Joke
I hear jaz has pissed one or two people off on his spoken word tour anyone on here go any of the shows? Yes, Sheffield yesterday. Whatever mishaps happened earlier were not present. It was pretty cool. Jaz came across well and had time for people afterwards. I was told apparently at Manchester ther...

Re: Killing Joke
I'm off to see Jaz on his spoken word tour in a few days. Jaz's statement on the passing of Geordie mentioned that Geordie wanted 'radical change' but at that time he didn't elaborate. In a new interview he says that Geordie 'had had enough' and didn't want to keep the current line up going. Jaz als...

Re: 50th Anniversary Setlist?
One thing I am disappointed with are a couple of the synth sounds. Not the cembalet, Raven lead and other bread and butter stuff but I thought the stage intro to JLNOE was weak (that may be playback anyway). Also some Feline-era sounds fall short of the original (no specific spoiler). I thought he m...

Re: 50th Anniversary Setlist?
I don't know - his actual singing seemed fine, it was all the extra "Yeah, well " between all the lines, instead of just singing the actual lyrics. The odd bit, sure, but it was all the time. Vanian's done that for donkeys years. Probably since the 80s. Sometimes it's a bit OTT. Back on t...

Re: 50th Anniversary Setlist?
The bit in GB is a "joke" about how Hugh was never able to play the solo successfully live. He has now given up trying! I don't see it as any sort of Hugh mocking at all. Even if it was, it's tongue-in-cheek. Think it's more about playing the iconic solo which you would never find in any ...

Re: 50th Anniversary Setlist?
I expect Toby will be under a lot of pressure taking lead vocals on a new set addition knowing it'll be on youtube and scrutinised within 20 minutes. Especially under the circumstances. It's early days. I'm not sure if Genetix is a good idea or not yet but the band haven't played safe with much this...
