Re: What era was your first Stranglers gig ?
No one has so far mentioned that they were new to the Stranglers because of Baz? Is there not any fans from Small Town Heroes or the Toy Dolls that have moved over to the Stranglers because of following Baz ?
For Christ's sake let it go man! You seem to be more obsessed with Baz Warne than ...

Re: Why no cd players in cars anymore?
It does seem to be a raw deal for the artist it makes you wonder how streaming platforms actually made this happen in the first place as artists would probably prefer how it used to be now with the odd piracy going on.
Hence bands putting all the effort now into Live music and merchandise ...

Re: Stranglers wakefield
The Stranglers however have always been on a completely different level for me than that but i can see easily how the levels of following can be different between different fans.
Indeed, I think there were enough elements in the original lineup; Dave's keys, Hugh's banter, JJs bass ...

Re: Stranglers wakefield
I can think of a few times when a "Heritage"/"Vintage" band name has played near me. I'm not massively into the band and I've no idea what the current lineup is but cos it's a name I've just gone along to see them. This is exactly what happens with a band like "The Stranglers"

I think ...

Re: What era was your first Stranglers gig ?
So, what era (as in "what era was your first stranglers gig") are you writing about here? Or are you just spraying your usual slurry of hate over every possible thread that you can?
Boring mate, very very boring.
Very boring indeed.
I get that he doesn't like Baz Warne but I've no idea why ...

Re: Why no cd players in cars anymore?
I *think* Spotify only helps an artist earn when they get streams in the hundreds of thousands, the level of royalties is a joke, as I understand it $0.004 per stream, and it takes over a million streams to yield about $1000 and this doesn’t necessarily go anywhere near directly to the ...

Re: Why no cd players in cars anymore?
Most of my streaming comes from my own library. Spotify can be very useful though to hear songs that you wouldn't normally check out and some bands i like to listen to but not quite enough to want to go out and purchase.
Is Spotify considered a music killer for ripping off the artist? I have ...

Re: Why no cd players in cars anymore?
And just wondering, back on topic, if I bow to family pressure and purchase a cybertruck, is there seriously not going to be a cd player in it????????? That's kind of lame-oh.
Newer vehicles now come with a USB port to play your music files that's got to be better hasn't it ? Play your ...

This goes back to the "fuck Spotify" and self host your own lossless files.
