Re: Non - Stranglers - Song of The Day

Coup D'Etat by the Circle Jerks. Played it this morning after a breakfast table discussion, and have had it stuck in my head ever since. "Coup D'Etat!"

Re: Help Make The 'Avoiders' Pay

Signed. I just wrote a massive rant about Amazon, the net book price agreement and globalised free markets, then the computer ran out of juice and I lost it all (in more ways than one). Think it's trying to tell me something. Anyways, in summary, you get what you pay for. There's always a cos...

Saw the most fantastic French Rockabilly band called Hot Chickens (of all things) at my local on Saturday. The frontman was unreal - so energetic and crazy, lying on the bar playing guitar, standing on his double bass, howling, whooping - and all in a tiny pub in Surrey. Excellent  Little clip...

Re: Last book read

Chemistry of Tears by Peter Carey - it's about death, grief, love and trying to make sense/order of chaos. I'd recommend his True History of the Kelly Gang too - written as Ned Kelly's autobiography, in his imagined voice, it's excellent.

The Fallen Leaves featuring original Subway Sect guitarist Rob Symmons are a great Garage Punk band - Rob is a great guitarist, have to see him play to believe it. Ah, I heard The Fallen Leaves for the first time last night on Radio 6 - love that garage sound. Thanks for the reminder, cos I'd forgo...

Re: Redundancy.

Sacked by text?! That's dreadful - just shocking. Can't believe your manager was tracking you on the forum too! Sounds like a right arsehole. Hope you get more work lined up soon.

Re: Stranglers 40th year celebrations 2014

Audience participation- We can all take a shed loads of drugs at the start, kidnap a journalist. Have a fight. Moving onto the 80s we can have a costume change into ill fitting leather jackets, designer shirts and beige slacks. Get our significant others to join us. Then we all wave a nominated Hug...
