Re: Stranglers 40th year celebrations 2014
A convention at a holiday camp, ala Pontins 2001. There was a great feeling of community with everyone, and the band, together at one site.

Re: Have you listened to music released from 2010 onwards?
'An Appointment with Mr Yeats' by The Waterboys is one of the best albums I've heard in a long time.
I also like the stuff Noel Gallagher's been doing.

Ageism in the music industry - The Alarm/Stranglers
There's an interesting new documentary film being made about how The Alarm in 2004 managed to show up the alleged 'ageism' in the music industry by scoring a top 30 hit by putting out a record disguised as a young up-and-coming band. One of the producers commented: "The Alarm have been in exist...

Re: Malcolm McLaren Dead
He was a great original who was the right place at the right time. And beyond the Sex Pistols, the man who created one of the most infectious and effervescent pop hits 'Double Dutch' - a worthy legacy to leave behind on its own. Re: Oasis split

Re: Help Insanity has hit me!!! Runners advice please
Hi Sewer, I'd recommend the 'Running Wild' shop at Ashley Cross as the place to get proper running shoes. It is run by runners and they know their stuff. The proper running shoe is absolutely vital. I've been a road runner for 30 years, and I was captain of the Poole Runners until a few years ago wh...

Re: Bradford & Bingley Public buy out!
Thought I was really clever yesterday at breakfast buying shares on the NY stock exchange, then the market made its biggest single day loss in history....and the bank I used to buy the shares had to be rescued by three European governments mid-morning. Wicked! Anyone want to tap me up for financial ...
