All killer no filler'?
Nine years ago on this forum I made the assertion that 'Giants' was all killer, no filler. I was rightfully ripped to bits by a Forum legend at the time and he turned out to be right. So, get ready because I am about to say the same about 'Dark Matters'. Let me explain.... Like you all, I have had a...

Re: dark matters chart chances
It would have been perhaps more impressive if they'd been able to achieve this at a time when the charts weren't truly fucked and they actually mattered, either pre-Spotify or even pre-Napster when people were actually going out and buying music. In an era when new entries generally chart high and ...

Re: Dark Matters - Initial Thoughts/Reviews
Bit surprised And If You Should See Dave is so low on the poll by the way...and Payday last is also a shock (although I am not a big fan either...)

Re: Dark Matters - Initial Thoughts/Reviews
Did a poll on the sister site on Facebook to gauge best track on first few hearings and as I know a few people here don't do Facebook I thought I would update on results so far to add to debate. So about 15 hours in with over 200 votes cast, this is the tally from Facebook BUT members so far with th...

Re: This Song
Anyone else think the band might have missed a trick in not releasing 'This Song' as a downloadable single at the exact same time as the much hyped video? I haven't seen such a buzz about a new Stranglers single beyond the traditional fanbase for a very long time - or almost universal praise for it ...

Re: Last book read
A few days off has finally given me the chance to finish The Romanovs by Simon Sebag Montifeore s monster of a book and one I would definitely recommend. It is 700 pages of truly astonishing, in-depth history about the (in)famous Russian family who were the country's totally unregulated autocrats fo...

Re: Last book read
Got myself a cracking pair of highly-regarded history books on special offer last week (even at my age I still love a birthday book token) and I am now eagerly awaiting diving into the worlds of crazy Tsars on one hand and the Nuremberg trials on the other. I am usually more of a fiction reader but ...

Re: The Chameleons
Great band IMHO with a unique sound. Always loved 'Tears' and 'Swamp Thing' best of all but they did many other mighty toons including 'Don't Fall' 'Second Skin' 'Nostalgia' 'Up and Down' 'In Shreds' et al... Well worth a journey of investigation - yes they can occasionally ramble a bit and the song...

He is a great chronicler of the period in both print and on TV and I am finding this to be a moving and nightmarish book already and I haven't even reached th...

Re: The Forums are Back ! : Caption Competition
Lady in Red: A member of one of our best known pop groups once said all Americans are idiots. I thought that was terribly wrong – after this morning I am no longer so sure. Pillock with the wig: thank you Mrs Thatcher. Can I just say how much I admire the United Kingdom of Great Britain. Sent from m...

Re: The forums are back....
Thanks for all your efforts Jim. It's no understatement to say that these forums have been a key part of my Stranglers life over the last decade or so and even though Facebook obviously is a big player these days this is still a daily 'go to' and I've missed my fix in the last week or so... Sent fro...
