Raven - well done on the book ! Work tells me that my copy has arrived there today.

On the Serge album front - Just back from London and bought the Comic Strip album, Couleur Cafe and a 2002 release called "The Ultimate best of". It is superb stuff !

Also got involved with "Les Indispensables de Jacques Dutronc" - will put that on later tonight.

Cheers mate.

I agree with you. Serge - the man is a God !! It is brilliant music and singing.

In a very similar vein, I strongly recommend an album called, "The Girl from Ipanema : Antonio Carlos Jobim Songbook". It is wonderful stuff which you can sit through and listen to for hours and before you know it, you've got through three bottles of house red. I know the album is on Amazon. Do a seach under Jobim.

Enjoy !

Surprising really, Serge was the original Punk Rocker....in the 60's one of his record sleeves was the old Pistols/Peaches cut up newsprint lettering, a good 10 years before it became the staple of Punk bands the world over and.....
His house was completely decorated in BLACK....walls, ceilings, the works. "For me, Black is not a colour! It is a value!" Now how familiar does that sound?

Raven - suggest Jim get's an earful of "Bonnie & Clyde" for starters. Then "Requiem pour un Con" followed by "Ballade de Melody Nelson".

That should do the trick 8)

And I suggest that as long as you give him a tennis racquet to play along with he'll be happy with whatever you stick on!
