Just heard that John McGeoch died in his sleep last Thursday. Brilliant guitarist (Magazine, Banshees). From Greenock originally. 49 years old. Sad loss.

Saw him when he played with The Armoury Show at the first and last East Kilbride Rock & Pop Festival years ago.

Sad waste.

No! Thats terrible news. He played on one of my fave late 70s (in fact fave full-stop) albums, The Banshees "Ju Ju". Was great on the tour too. I'm gonna stick the album on now, as a mark of respect.

He was brilliant with Magazine. Part of the best line up they ever had and superb live.
Freddie Laker showed them what to do...
