Jah Wobble

Post by Palais23 »

Been a mild fan of PiL and Invaders of the Heart over the years but never seen Wobble live. He is playing a club reasonably (15 miles) close to me soon doing the Metal Box album.

Should I stay (at home) or should I go (and see him)? £27 a ticket.

I welcome your undoubted wisdom please.

Saw him in Paisley, mibee 5 years ago and it was a great gig, didn't know all the songs but the musicianship was impressive and there was enough well known tracks too.Shared a fag with the great man outside before the gig, but don't think it was more than half that price for a brief.
(all that's missing is the choker)

Not seen him live but I imagine he would be good entertainment. Worth a punt I reckon

I saw him at a small venue near me last November,. Really great fun, and brilliant musicianship.

I've got tickets to see him again this coming November, same venue ....so highly recommended.

Wanted to see him but I’ve already bought tickets for The Cockney Rejects who are also playing the same night in Leeds.
Would have loved to hear Wobble play the Metal Box album, so yeah go see him if you’ve got the chance 👍🏻
Shush this is serious

Thanks everyone. I have taken your esteemed advice and purchased tickets to see Mr Wobble (extra bonus, John Klein ex-Banshee on guitar). However, before this gig, at the same venue in deepest darkest Staffordshire, I am seeing Ian McNabb. Listing all my gigs, I have worked out that I have seen the Icicle Works 4 times - at least I can remember 3 of them!

Anyone know what time Mr Wobble takes to the stage? Got a feeling these are early starts

I reckon you're right. The venues on the tour will have strict licences. I am seeing him in an arts centre where I saw Ian McNabb last weekend and he started 8pm on the dot.

Very enjoyable last night. Almost jazzy Zappaesque at times
