Top 5 Bands you wished you could have seen

Post by Palais23 »

So here are my 5 bands I would loved to have seen live, in no particular order:

1. The Jimi Hendrix Experience.
2. The Doors
3. CRASS
4. Joy Division
5. MC5

I would have put AC/DC with Bon Scott as I saw them with Brian Johnston but strictly does not count.

What about you missed opportunities?

Well i was fortunate enough to see most bands that i liked but here is a few off the top of my head and i am sure i will return later thinking of more .

David Bowie - i could have seen him but was put off by the mass over played media hype and also the over the top sized arenas he was playing.

The Clash the original line up - yeah this would have been a good one to see in its day.

Killing Joke back in the 80s - I was always doing something else at the time but i couldn't be bothered now to see them.

The Who

Paul Heaton and Jacqie Abbot - Seen Housemartins and Beautiful South a few times but i reckon them two would be good as well.

Blondie

Various 60s bands

Dolly Parton

Elvis Presley

Buddy Holly

Still thinking if there is anyone else ..................

Good topic.

Talking heads (seen Byrne)
Magazine (with McGeoch but the gigs in 2009 and 2011 were fantastic)
David Gilmour (with Floyd preferably)

How can you say that watch this vid of them live it sounds ok.

What can you not like about their look Joe wearing sunglasses indoors in a dark venue and don't you think they look cool in there hats and wearing jackets over there shoulders  Nothing pretentious there at all

I saw the Clash II at Brixton without Mick Jones and that was really brilliant probably made better by the enthusiastic audience.

Big Audio Dynamite were a much better band and better Live i always thought.
