No funding this year but if you want to do something amazing...
As the dust settles with the forums move and upgrade I'd like to thank those of you who've said thanks or appreciate the effort here. It's been a real time-killer and effort I could've done without for a couple of weeks but I know the forums means a lot to you. I'd like to ask a small favour please.....
As some of you know every couple of years or so I'll call out for a bit of a whip round to keep the forums moving. I won't be doing that this year. The forums costs don't amount to that much really - I've always aimed to be open and transparent about funding the site. Without me digging the paperwork/costs out it's probably around £50-100 tops. I'm happy to front the costs this year. If you appreciate the forums then please carry on reading....
I've toyed with the idea of doing something worthwhile with the forums, something charitable, for a few years now. It's always difficult choosing a charity but circumstances made my decision clear. In the Summer last year a close family member was diagnosed with a brain tumour - I don't wish to go into the detail here but cutting a long story short I'd appreciate any donations to the Brain Tumour Charity. That's it really - We're not a faceless contribution either. I've been in dialogue with contacts at that charity and they're delighted to be selected for funding. So please, if you can do me a favour and give a charitable donation then it would mean a lot to me.

Thanks to those that have donated so far. Would be great if we could have a few more to get us up to £200 - great cause. Do something charitable if you can.
Thanks again
Jim

Done!
Lost my father in law to a brain tumour and a lad in the village went just before Christmas leaving two little boys.
It's a cruel way to go.
I salute you Jim!

It's over a couple of years ago since I sent the begging bowl round. I've been busy today:-
- upgrading the forums to the latest version - then sorting out a bug that kept logging ppl out (should be fine now)
- reinstating the gallery https://www.themeninblack.co.uk/gallery
- Sorting out the "Covered" fans cover versions.
The forums do cost money (around a tenner a month) and time - Rather than asking for money to fund the forums it would be nice if you could see your way to donating to the following:-
