Always had a soft spot for pretty much anything off "Hunting High and Low" but then it was the first album I bought (I was 10!). "Blue Sky", "Living a Boys Adventure Tale" , "Here I Stand and Face The Rain" - all good

I think they're a great wee band......each album totally different from the previous one. Saw them live only once at Glasgow Academy and the place was packed!....hopefully tour Britain again next year.....

ELO ain't bad at all in places 10538 overture and Mr Blue Sky are great songs IMO

I was gonna say earlier in this thread half my tastes would be sneered at by the type of people I have known over the years. most of these would probably call themselves a 'punk', and interestingly most of them would think of the stranglers as naff.

I've been musically narrow minded in the past but these days I like all sorts of accumulated tastes from the years that some might consider naff from Iron Maiden to Goldfrapp.

A good example for the purpose of this thread is the fact I do like some pretty naff 80's songs, where I don't necessarily like a lot more stuff by that band let's see now:
Westworld- Sonic Boom Boy
OMD- If you Leave
Kim Wilde- Kids of America
Ultravox - Vienna

I love Bowie and for years wouldn't admit to liking Let's Dance but now think it's a great song and should probably dig the album out at some point. I could go on and on, but I most definitely don't like Simply Red, but dare I admit to liking the odd song by the Communards, well 'Don't Leave me this way, right I'll get me coat

But seriously it's good to keep an open mind about music, people who only like punk or the right genre of goth or metal or whatever are just denying themselves an open mind. These days I've started getting more into classical music, though I don't claim to know very much at all about it, always willing to try most types of music, why not eh?
