Bring me a piece of my mummy, she was quite close to me........
Re: Bubba leaves Straighten Out
Just back from Oz and a bit bewildered by this, not spoke to any of the band yet, but I sincerely hope Bob goes on to things his talents deserve.
I especially hope that SO can find a worthy replacement and can continue to provide the great nights many of this forum enjoy so much.

Of all the people who are members of this forum, surely someone must have some ability to play Stranglers songs on guitar!! How about it??? Any takers? or maybe you know someone who has what it takes?? I know its unpredictable moneywise, but still, somebody out there must have dreams of being onstage playing Stranglers songs--now's your chance!
Britains got talent, don't we know it!!

Re: Bubba leaves Straighten Out
Pretty awful news in my opinion. Bob is a brilliant frontman in a rather stupendous tribute band.
Had a lovely chat with him and his good lady before the Grimsby bikers gig. A thoroughly decent chap.
I can only echo what others have said...Good Luck and All The Very Best Bob!

I once had a nightmare about being asked. I would run a fucking marathon in the opposite direction, and that's a fact.C r a s s ! wrote:nickinblack wrote:Bubba, you would not have looked out of place in the real Stranglers.

Re: Bubba leaves Straighten Out
Bob, sad to hear you're leaving SO. Like I've said on your FB page....... Your H&A gig earlier this year was the finest tribute any tribute band could play. Most of us young buggers on here weren't able to attend the '77 one.
I shall miss your WoB immensely. Thank God for YouTube!
I, as has been mentioned in this thread already, wish your good self, success and happiness for whatever you decide to do musically in the future. And don't let the "Will Bubba rejoin Straighten Out?" thread in 2029, on this very forum, get you down. It's a mark of the ultimate respect for your abilities as a musician, (shared) front man, and all round decent chap, that all of us fans share.
On a purely selfish note............... I can hold a note, look good with my shirt off, have lost shoes at many major concert venues and can hold my own with a couple of bits of wood. Should I apply?

Mate, I don't know what to say, except thankyou. I still want to play the Stranglers' music and who knows what the future holds, eh?yellowcakeuf6 wrote:Bob, sad to hear you're leaving SO.
