I loved reading that and some of his other books. Cider with Rosie also great but I enjoyed "As I walked out one midsummer morning" even more. It was the first book of his I read. (wrong order but never mind) Get them both!

Taking a quick look over my bookshelves I can thoroughly reccomend the following:

Classic British Motorcycles of the 1950's,
Classic World War II Escape Stories,
Classic Military Aircraft of World War II,
Classic Military Blunders,
Classic British Cars,
Classic Automobiles,
Classic Naval Battles,
Classic Military Vehicles,
Classic Steam Engines,
Classic Helicopter Gunships In Action,
Classic Automobilia From The Golden Age Of Motoring,
Classic Stories About Decent Chaps Fending Off Attacks By Thousands Of Fuzzywuzzies, Armed Anly With A Stout Stick,
Classic Stories About Decent Chaps Storming Machine Gun Nests Single Handedly Whilst Smoking A Pipe,
Classic Tips For Decent Chaps (contains advice on tying knots, the inside of a steam locomotive and how to spot a foreigner),
1984

(The last one is a load of old bollocks to be honest)
I tried to make him laugh, He didn't get the joke, and then he said I wasn't right in the head.

There is supposed to be a remake of The Day of The Triffids in the pipeline.

If you're just looking for stocking fillers they've got some good box sets in Tesco right now. I bought a John Le Carre trilogy for £5 last night.

Failing that I'd try the Waterstones website.

That just reminds me of Tony Curtis in Spartacus when he says in a really thick Bronx accent "...and I also taught them the classics." I think he's washing some Roman bloke in a bath at the time. Or am I imagining that scene...?
