Went to see Buzzcocks on Thursday night in Glasgow. Neville Staples was one of the support acts.
Outside @ the box office window, I spotted somebody @ the other box office window who I recognised. It took me a couple of seconds, as he now has a Shane McGowan'esque beard, however it was none other than the great Jerry Dammers.
Midway through Neville Staples set, Jerry D. walked straight up to the front of the crowd barried & waved @ Staples, to which the singer stopped singing & shouted out "Jerry !". At the end of the gig, Neville Stples jumped off stage & into the crowd where the two ex-Specials embraced & after a chat, disappeared backstage.
A Specials reunion next year ?
Here's hoping. One of the best bands I ever saw live.
C'mon Jerry, Terry, et al. Get it together !

Steveareno.

P.S. : Oh, Buzzcocks were brill also.

Buzcocks were as good as always. All the hits at break-kneck speed. Great entertainment.

Stevereno.

Did Diggle get busy with the guitar at the end of I Believe?

I even like the Colour Field and Terry's solo stuff! Would love a reunion indeed but the stuff they did mid 90s (sans Terry n Jerry) was terrible.

Man what was that ColourField song - me and me mum loved that song - musta been about 11 at the time........"If you ever think of me I'll be thinking of you" love it

Got the Specials BBC sessions about 3 years back - not a massive Specials fan and I'm often left scratching me heed wondering why everyone wanks over them but I quite like the sessions "Bernie Rhodes nose don't argue!"

Hi everyone. Not often I get time to post etc these days but had to reply to this. There was an article in the Guardian a couple of weeks ago with Simon Jordan who is the Chairman of Crystal Palace. He is working on a project at the moment and he is hopeful it will end in a full reunion of the Specials. So there is hope yet.
