Yeah you need these "pop stars" like this. I always found her collaboration tracks were exceptional. The Jah Wooble and The The tracks sprint to mind. Clearly well respected by fellow musicians.

I didn't know much of her stuff, I liked "Mandinka" and didn't really like "Nothing Compares" (but because I didn't like the song, rather than her specific version of it). I do remember watching a documentary shown late one night on TV about the making of "Am I Not Your Girl?" and enjoying it, and having a different view of her than I had before.

I can only find an excerpt, maybe the whole thing is somewhere as I remember it being interesting, perhaps just because I like these "making of" things if they're well done.
