That's a good collection. I used to listen to all of my parents lps from the 60s and 70s, I remember a lot of EPs too? I bought a compilation in the 80s and played it to death.Arthur Streeb-Greebling wrote: ↑29 Jun 2018, 20:20 What albums you guys got? I've just been googling the kinks, I'm surprised how little chart success they had after the early 70s, I thought they were popular for longer. I was also surprised that they split up in the late 90s, I remember that come dancing song, but nothing after that.

Re: The Kinks are back!
They played my local uni - Brunel - around 1979. I remember thinking at the time it was a small venue for them. Also it was around posters for a new band, apparently called “the Stranlers” appeared, at the same venue.
I can't help getting old. I just refuse to grow up.

Re: The Kinks are back!
It seems they're putting some new tracks together in the studio which means that they won't even have to see each other or be in the same place at the same time, no talk of live gigs!
Re: The Kinks are back!
I'm afraid the only shite here, is what your saying. The kinks are the second best British band after the who, to come out of the 60s. Seen them twice in 1993 in Glasgow. Superb.

Indeed.
Any news? Seems to have gone all quite on the Kinks front since that last announcement last year.

Not heard anything. Maybe they are busy, working on new stuff.

I saw some of their Set in March 94 @ Wembley. Each to their own but they bored me senseless live.sewer rat wrote:stroll on....another over-rated MOD band of the 60's. I agree with the last comment....all about the money. they'll stand there and go through the motions for 90 minutes and then it'll be Ferrari's all round
