Sorry mate can’t help but just gotta say I recently heard a song in a film, summat about ‘Listening to the music the machines make’ and Ive just found out it was ‘Just for a Moment’ by Ultravox.
It’s fanfuckintastic!
Only really heard the chart stuff singles (Vienna) and wasn’t that keen on em and didn’t know they were as good as this, i really do like this song, gotta get me some early Ultravox. Also just found out it was John Foxx singing on ‘Just For A Moment’ which is great cos I remember as a kid loving his song ‘Underpass’ or ‘Underpants’ as some of us sang back then in school. So gonna get me some John Foxx stuff too. :smt023

hey Arthur, here's a compilation of ultravox stuff....it runs chronologically from their 1st album 'Ultravox 76/77' - their reunion 2012 album with the ure line up called 'Brilliant'. I've tons of live audios by both eras if you fancy hearing them on stage...let me know. but in the meantime....enjoy the shit out of this....and anyone else who downloads it
cheers

TRACKS
(foxx)
ultravox 76/77 - 1-4
ha ha ha 1977 - 5-8
systems of romance 1978 - 9-11

(ure)
Vienna 1980 - 12-15
rage in eden 1981 - 16-18
quartet 1982 - 19-23
monument 1983 - this is a short live album they released but not included here
lament 1984 - 24-27

u-vox 1986 - last ure era album but I never took anything from it as it is shit

midge ure left the band in 1988. in 1992, billy currie formed a new line up with a singer called Tony Fenelle and released an album that year called 'revelation'...(avoid). then in 1994 another singer was recruited called Sam Blue and they released an album that year called 'ingenuity'...(avoid)...and the band finally split in 1996.
in 2008, the original band reformed and toured and released a live album 'return to eden'. in 2012 they went into the studio and recorded the album 'brilliant' and went on tour with it. in 2017, ure and currie both announced separately that ultravox had been sadly put to bed.

brilliant 2012 - 28-30

....ok Arthur, hope this helps mate.

There are a couple of alright tracks on Ingenuity. The title track and the instrumental Majestic are two that spring to mind.
Revelation is pretty poor, and there's a really blatant Kraftwerk sample I'm surprised they got away with in "True Believer".

Neither are essential purchases, but neither is "Brilliant" imo.

'Brilliant' may have been decent if whittled down to 8 or 9 tracks, but it's nowhere near their stuff 1976-1984.

Please don't share download links to studio albums - Jim may be fine with bootlegs, but making studio albums available here to download is a definite no-no. As a result, I've removed the links and Jim has also been made aware.
