1. Hugh band
2. Baz band
3. Baz acoustic
4. Hugh acoustic
5. I checked the version on "Access All Areas" and it's not JE's finest moment.

Define finesse, please.

Never thought of Hughs guitar work as 'impressive delicacy and skilful', he's no Allan Holdsworth but his guitar solos are very quirky, inventive, memorable, simple and very easy to learn and that's why ive always loved Hugh's guitar playing so much.
Also I think he's very underrated and deserves to be more well known.

I don't see the point in comparing Hugh to Baz or John Ellis, Hugh wrote the songs and solos, end of.

Totally agree. They are just copying. Couldn’t give a flying toss if they are technically better they cannot write anything that compares. Nothing compares to Hugh. Apologies.
how did I get down here, well it's a long story

Yeah agree with above comments... I don't think they're meant to be delicate and skilful, but out of the three band members who have played it I think John Ellis displays the most finesse. Not necessarily the best to hear though! But I can't vote for him!

Just a comparison of the 4 particluar clips, different ways of playing it, couldn't find a video of Ellis playing it.

Baz and Hugh below par on acoustic  , interesting to see these days Baz plays it different to Hugh, Baz chucks in more pitch bends, or is Hugh being lazy :?:

I liked the band versions more than the acoustic. I can see/hear that baz is technically good, but I enjoy listening to Hugh play more. I think that Hugh's performance was more expressive.

But I wonder if I'm just biased, and if I heard the music without knowing who was playing I'd think the same?
