Just finished Johan Cruyffs autobiog. My favourite non LFC player but it wasnt as good as I expected, a bit dry.
On Steve Jones book now, bloody hell its raw.....
Agree with you about Cruyff's book. I skimmed the last half. I guess he did his best talking with his feet.
Just finished Irving Welsh's T2 ( aka Porno). Darkly funny.
I thought there would be a bit more sparks in Johans book, but as he said that time "if I meant you to understand it, I would have explained it better" so maybe its me.
T2 was fun, though I did have to re-read the sections written in local dialect sometimes, but still a great read.
"Do you mind dear boy I just cant stand all this tension, could I squeeze in front of you so I can cash me pension, oooooh ooooh yippee ay oooohhhh"
A prayer for Owen Meany - John Irving. Wonderful book. I read so much mediocre crime/general fiction these days I appreciate a really well written book. And I am working up to the Karamazov brothers - recommended to me by my late mother but I never got round to reading it before she shuffled off this mortal coil.

Love that book. I was convinced that the ultimate basketball pass would be staged on my actual birth date but it's a few days after. Couple of years back my son had a lad in his class who was the spitting image of what I imagined Owen Meany to be like, including voice. I had to keep reminding myself of his real name when he came round.

You are indeed a (bag) lady of taste and refinement. Ever seen Cocteau's take on beauty and the beast? Absolutely magical. And not in a Paul Daniels way.

No, I haven't seen it but I'm intrigued so maybe one day.
