Most of it just sounds the same though. One of the main things in music I like is the singing but with rap there's no real melody. The odd track is ok like Slim Shadey by Eminem but generally I think people just like it to try and be cool. A lot of really thick people seem to listen to it as well! Sorry if I'm sounding like an old git!

I toil outdoors in the US. Most rap that blasts out of cars come from white punks yearning to be hip.

I find a bit annoying sometimes when a really good radio station like 6 Music will play some really good music like the Stranglers etc but then play some rap. I'm sure they play it just to be seen as hip or diverse. Do the listeners really like both genres?

I utterly hate and despise rap.its complete shit.A few years ago, there was all that west and east coast stuff in america with fueds going on between rappers.the odd one here and there were getting killed in drive by shootings.I would have been delighted if the whole sodding lot killed each other.

Rap is not something I can take seriously in terms of music.

The only exception I can think of is the Eminem Show album, which I kind of got into at the time. Some of the lyrics on that album are very hard hitting and the delivery is quite angry, almost punk !
