I'm not sure I'd trust our politicians to run our country - not even sure they could run a corner shop .Baronvon wrote:And that's what the MEP is for...there is democracy behind it though given the nature of our democratic referendum it goes to demonstrate that if the democracy is ill informed then it's no good for anyone.iain wrote:So, would you prefer democracy disappearing over the horizon forever as QMV takes hold over even more areas of our lives, less say in the decisions being made....your taxes controlled by those who you and the electorate of the U.K. can't vote out?
Is that what you want for you and your children's future?
The EU is far from perfect but compared to our own horrifically broken and inept political system it's definitely the lesser of two evils.
All quiet ..........

But it bounces back. Stock markets always do. The stock market has replaced all the "losses"theraven1979 wrote:You're having a larf ain't you? Lost £1000s in last 3 days.

They are not a good barometer.
Currencies on the other hand have a direct effect on costs and we're getting screwed now.

Let's not forget that the government is not obliged to enforce article 50 and they may consider that the negotiated deal is not good enough to make it worth pulling out of Europe.

Re: The EU : Do we stay or do we go ?
They are trying to get a watered down version of what near on 18 million people actually voted for which is to get out not slightly out or almost out but OUT! If they fuck around with this democratic decision then they will piss off most of those near on 18 million to vote for another alternative enter the far right . Treat people like idiots and they will start acting like that.
