Hooverdam has some great stuff on it too. Just should have sounded better though.

Not a fan of hooverdam but totam and taboo had 2 great tracks Bad Vibrations and A Street Called Carroll, Both up there with his best solo stuff to date.

'Hooverdam' was deliberately lo-fi, though. That's the reason that people use the studio and producer that Hugh worked with on the album - it was recorded on very old equipment that hasn't been used in professional recording studios for decades.

Guilty by quite a way. It's a genuinely brilliant album.

Hooverdam sounds good live but the production was absolute garbage.

Love Guilty - some really great tracks on there and the keyboard makes such a difference.....but I have to go for Nos. Such a wonderfully odd and inventive album of songs which grow on you as the years go by. You revel in the weirdness and find yourself doing strange deadpan Hugh looks in the window reflection as you sing along and do the dishes....and everyone moves away from you a little....

Deliberately or not, it just didn't work for me. Which is a shame as the songs are great - fortunately they come to life when played live.

Funnily enough I listened to Guilty the other day and had forgotten how good it was. I thought Totem and Taboo was great but voted for Nosferatu. Not exactly easy listening but has anyone made an album quite like it? I admire the risk taking with this album and unlike a lot of experimental stuff, it works.

Side projects eh? No one has rated his acting or book writing yet.
