Iain,
he listened made notes and referred me to john Cruddas' observations about increased benefits for those who had paid longer into the system taking the view that this is linked to the issue of availability of training at little or no cost to more mature workers who may have pre-existing commitments when things go wrong for them
funnily enough I mentioned this meeting with a neighbour and lo and behold it transpires a cousin of hers taught Chukka at school and has described him as very bright and conscientous with an appealing modesty

The next five years of this Government's term will be fascinating.
They will have to deal with the financial global shit-storm that hit the western world and beyond in late September 2008.
That shit-storm is yet to play out. Cameron is putting out some fires but there is huge amount of work to be done to correct the balance sheet.
I think he got back in as a sizeable part of the electorate thought, "give him more time".

Chuka Wotsit doesn't want to do it. Liz Kendall, Andy Burnham, Yvette Cooper and Mary Creagh are all ok people but don't seem like natural leaders/winners. I've read that a lot of people rate Keir Starmer who is MP for Holborn but I've yet to see him on TV saying he's going to throw his hat in the ring.

I detest Labour. There is nothing good about them and they have no clue about anything. it was quite heartbreaking seeing that they won my local area again by a big (though reduced) majority. I just wish they would go away. They have ruined the valleys, not the tories .
