Stranglers Stuff in unexpected places...

Post by elvisintheclouds »

Was chatting with a Yoga instructor the other day and the conversation got round to me being at a gig in Manchester at the weekend.
To which he asked "Oh were you playing?"
I replied in the negative and that I was there to see The Stranglers on their 40th anniversary tour and so on.
His face lit up and he said "Oh wow, was it good? Was Hugh Cornwell joining in for the Anniversary?" etc Etc EiTC...
I brought him up to speed and he went on to tell me he's seen them about twenty times in the mid 70s!
Him and a bunch of his mates used to go and see all the bands that played at The Nashville around 76-78...
I wasn't expecting that!

A great story, I was looking out of my window one day, and could see a Stranglers shirt in the back field he was quite a way off from where I was.

When I see anyone I don't know in a Stranglers T-shirt, I always comment.

Stranglers stuff in unexpected places...
Just found a near mint 7" vinyl copy of FREE 4 (just a few pencil marks on the B.Side of the white label, and a slight scratch on the run out grooves of the A.Side) I found it hidden between the faded brown pages of an old 1970's copy of the Yellow Pages, which was placed for protection in an old wooden and brass pirates chest, which was hidden in an old damp mysterious cave on a secluded beach in South Uist the Inner Hebrides... found it while I was searching caves for mega rare green glowing magic penguins (big eared species, with horns) If anyone wants it, just place a bag of slightly sticky sherbert lemons in an envelope, and hide it in the old red telephone box down the hill from the chippie in Dreamland at midnight (please include an e.mail address for non-delivery)... I also found a stash of Peaches 'Blackmail' sleeves in my cheese and coleslaw sandwich at lunchtime... all original, no fading of artwork but some slight creasing in top left hand corners (some mayonaise stains, but that should wash of with a drop of terpentine)

I'll get you the sherbet lemons! Just tell the king of the potato people to not double-cross me again like last time, when I wanted the EP of Hitler covering Elvis songs...
