He could get Paul Roberts back on vocals? I presume John Ellis could play bass too? No lets not go there!

Baz is not as near to his pension as JJ and Dave so I suppose Baz n Caz present the sound of the stranglers might be coming to a venue near you in 2020 8)

 That might not be too bad! It would work if it was billed like that.

Yeah, I'd go to "Sound of the Stranglers" with Baz and Caz, what's not to like! They'd need a keyboard player though, I let Hugh get away without but I don't think Baz should.

Switch JE back to lead and Baz to bass - he was bass player with Toydolls .
JE and Baz together - look more like an oi band .

For me it's JJ. If he stops it all stops.

If Jet did hang up the sticks (and let us hope that isn't for a long time yet, I could see JJ, Baz and Dave still staying together but maybe dropping the name and doing it all slightly differently. I think they could happily go down the acoustic route - I have been playing a couple of those CDs of late and really enjoyed them and feel they could comfotably change tack and make that the dominant part of their work long term.
Generally, I just can't see JJ and Dave (friends and collaborators for nearly 40 years) and JJ and Baz (best friends for more than a decade) wanting to pull away from each other now. Just look at any festival line-up - there seems to be no such thing as an 'ex' pop star, people just carry on as long as they can and who can blame them?
Saying that though if JJ did pack it in I think everything else would just cease. He is remember the only Strangler to play every single gig they have ever done.
No JJ, no Stranglers.
They'll be called the survivors..you know why?....cos they're gonna survive

I doubt they'll drop the name - It's a cash cow.

I suppose if JJ and Dave went on alone they could always do 'Fire And Water 2'.
