I was always told that a story should have a beginning, a middle and an end. This has none of those.
Damn, I wish I'd read this last week. I concur, utter rubbish.
Harry Brown, on the other hand, is pretty good, almost what I'd hoped Gran Torino would be. Very depressing movie, but a good watch.
I watched Iron Man for the first time last night, my mate lent it me, I’m not a big superhero fan but this was Ok. I quite liked the idea of an arms dealer recognising the damage their corporation has done in the world and wanting to change that. I had actually read about this movie in an academic article regarding sci-fi and fantasy's portrayal of the war on terror so had an idea there was some kind of limited social comment in this film. Not bad really, a good fun movie as well as a very token piece of social comment, 3/5
Battle Los Angeles - Typical, predictable, Holywood, USA-Once-Again-Saves-The-World Shite.
Paul - Not as good as I hoped from Pegg/His Fat Mate, and kinda felt like they wrote the dialog,
then added a shit-load of "Fucks" later, dunno why, would have made a better kiddy's film.
Whatever Works- This time Larry David gets to play Woody Allen, I enjoyed it, not exactly up
there with his "earlier funny stuff", but a return to good,mid-period Woody.
Down By Law- Jim Jarmush's 80's black n white classic; Tom Waits and John Lurie excel, with an
hilarious Roberto Benigni in a must see prison break/splashing through the bayou comedy drama, I reckon.
127 hrs - read the book (Between a Rock and a Hard Place) a couple of years back, film not too bad either,
some nice touches, but not as grittily unrelenting as the book's true story.

Im kind of completely movied out at the moment, being incapacitated for much of the last few weeks has meant i´ve read and watched just about everything I can think of . Can anybody recommend anything they´ve watched recently that jumped out at them. Don´t post if it´s pretty mainstrem, as i´ve probably seen it.
Oh the bliss, oh the pleasure caressing your ears.

Been filling my boots with movies recently too, think I've seen every major movie in the last year, and pretty much
all of them were pish. Off the top of my head, the following were fine:
The Guard, Super, 30 minutes or less, Our Idiot Brother, Zack & Miri make a porno, Defendor, Limitless, Midnight in Paris, er, and that's about it.
Watched Into The Abyss last night, don't bother.
