I was there! The first and only York festival! Travelled all the way up from Cornwall for that. Not the Sisters' finest hour, they were never really meant to be seen in daylight. I saw them twice prior to that, at Plymouth Top Rank, and once more at the Lyceum just before that incarnation of the band split. The Chameleons were excellent, as were Spear and the Bunnymen. That was the night Ian McCulloch got in all sorts of trouble for hitting a bouncer with his mike stand.
