Re: How Rare Is This Cover?
i have been collecting rare stranglers items for more than 30 years both buying and selling .
i would say that the blue dutch copy of this single is the rarer of the two.
i have only come across three of these in good condition.
the u.k version is much more common ,alot of these where given out with a promo sticker on the back to the media etc
i was told that jj gave alod away to fans when he won them back from the record label as well.
there are also a few onesided test pressings of the single.
as well as the two bootlegg singles on karate label there is also a bootleg c.d single

Re: How Rare Is This Cover?
i bought the beanos test sleeves pictured on this post , they were discarded by UA in a bin in 1980 and both sleeves hadnt been stuck yet ...I have the original artwork also for the UK sleeve done by "shoot that tiger" unlike Raven 1 i believe the UK release is rarer as it never made the shops , the dutch single did get into stores for a couple of days before being withdrawn by Dutch UA . I paid 300stg for a mint UK copy and 85stg for the dutch copy..today they go for 350 and 150 roughly. Great song never understood why JJ objected to the production on it ...sounds awesome to me! would love a test pressing of it , have only heard of one fan ( Graham Knapp) who had it and he sold it many years ago ...

wants to be left alone....

Not me Owen i haven't been alive for 30 years
.
I would pay £300 for the UK snow country if anyone was selling a copy if they had one spare, like. I saw one on eli.com were JJ has signed it Jean jacques burnel and it was on sale for 2 thousand pounds!.

Re: How Rare Is This Cover?
I've got just the sleeve (the actual vinyl was damaged years ago when I originally came across it), but it's signed by JJ ...... would the cover be worth anything being it's signed?
I HATE YOU MORE THAN RADIOACTIVITYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

No one will ever know just how many escaped…the one’s JJ has thrown given away over the years.
For my two pennith…..over the years I have seen more UK versions appear for sale or auction than the Dutch version.
However the UK copy seems to go for a lot more….make your own conclusions.

Mine are that they are both great items and very collectable

Re: How Rare Is This Cover?
YES THE THE DUTCH RECORD WAS OUT IN HOLLAND FOR A DAY OR TWO BUT THERE WAS NO REAL PROMOTION FOR IT AND AT THE TIME THERE WAS NOT THAT MANY RECORD SHOPS IN HOLLAND.
so i dont think many would have sold. who can say?
i was not going by that anyway just how many have been on sale and what i have seen over the years.
for example in the last five years i have come across one mint copy of the dutch single that is now mine.
one dutch record with a badly damaged cover, and one copy of record with out the cover.
the u.k version comes up all the time on gemms. ebay etc.
maybe it comes up for sale more often because of the price.
any way nice topic to chat about.
i belive the single was with drawn because it was a demo and not completed.

Re: How Rare Is This Cover?
When Feline came out i bought it from HMV in Bham city centre on the first day of release, i managed to get 2 out of supposedly 10 available copies of album with the band's autographs embossed in silver, one in each corner, anyone know how rare this is ?
