Re: b sides which should have been on albums
Hot club was a good little instumental on the No Mercy 12 inch. I don't like the version on Aural Sculpture much though. All that racket in the background ruins it

I agree with that Jason - Hot Club has a fantastic tune which I think was sort of ruined by all the background noise which was supposed to make it sound like a nightclub closing up (but didn't really work). I would be a bit miffed if I was Dave because strip that distracting stuff away and you have a great track with a splendid keyboard-led melody.
Beyond that Since You Went Away is THE 'undiscovered' Strangler B-side classic I think and I also like Vietnamerica, Norman Normal (love the psychedilic ending), the enchanting Permission, Maninwhite, Top Secret, and the jaunty Achilles Heel.
All these top toons - and yet Love 30 and Yellowcake still made it onto B-sides!

They'll be called the survivors..you know why?....cos they're gonna survive

Some great posts on this thread. Incidently what's the Hot Club mix without the "riot" on?

Loved that track Pawsher the first time I heard it. And Rok it to the Moon and Old Codger.
Sorry I think I might have missed the point

Nothing to do with it but as I type this I'm listening to Tomorrow Was the Hereafter - surprised how good it is. Just my opinion like.

This came on my mp3 player the other day and was (once again) blown away by the "man in Belfast" line - funnily enough, it gets me every time!!saminblack wrote:...
