And many thanks to you Nick!nickinblack wrote:Sold to ThruTooManyBeers.Thanks.
Feel like I've got one over the rip-off on-line ticket agencies tonight. Not only did I get 2 tickets at less than face value plus one at face value (thought I might have got a discount from paul b) I also bagged a ticket for SBE thanks to Pam& Andy.
Cheers to everyone who helped out. Proof that fan power is alive and kicking. Deffo worth just turning up at gigs these days to see if other punters have spares before shelling out elsewhere.imho.
Re: B.U.T. TICKET OFFICE (Open for business?)
Great call TBC,
I have been right 'royally pissed off' with some of the charges from places like Ticke Web on this tour. At one gig (Bristol) they tried to charge me nearly £9.00 for 2 tickets and i was picking them up. As it was a last minute thing with work etc... I opted to pay cash on the door. When they say cash they mean it as well good old 'British Sterling', no credit cards even if there was an attendant at the box office. Rant nearly over, but to make things worse and to ensure their 'pound of flesh' the price had increased to £25.
With this in mind, again after checking work commitments can ayone get me SBE tickeys for Friday and Saturday night at face value. Plus obviously the price of a pint or two or glass of wine which I would rather pay to a forum member than some ticket shiesters!!
OK-Phew-Rant over!!
quote="ThruBeingCool"]So come on, let's get organasized!
We're all pissed off with the on-line booking rip-offs i.e extra charges for admin fees & postage etc. But we don't have to take this shit - well, at least not all of the time......
I've started this thread because I know that many of us live near venues where if you pay cash for tickets no extras are added on. This can often mean a saving of at least a fiver per ticket and in these days when the 'credit crunch' is kicking in,saving a few quid on a ticket might be an incentive to opt for a night out as opposed to staying in watching 'The X-Factor'. Or summat!
We're all mates on here and I personally have alot of faith in Stranglers fans to help each other out. So, why don't people who are in a position to purchase tickets at face value post any help that they are able to offer here? Likewise, members can state their wants here. Not just for The Stranglers but any gigs I might add.
I'll start the ball rolling. 'Rock City' in Nottingham does not charge any extras if you pay cash at their box office. So, if anyone fancies a gig there and you want a ticket at face value pm me first. On receipt of a cheque & s.a.e I would be more than willing to help out. Same goes for 'The Rescue Rooms' & 'The Royal Concert Hall' btw.
Oh yeah, if anyone can help me get an SBE ticket at face value (Saturday night), I'd be most grateful
This alright for ya Claire [/quote]

Re: B.U.T. TICKET OFFICE (Open for business?)
I have 2 tickets for saturday at the SBE, level 2 up for grabs at face value if anyone is interested. (A saving of 8 quid on buying from the venue!).
I tried to make him laugh, He didn't get the joke, and then he said I wasn't right in the head.
