Touching Cloth

Post by theraven1979 »

The sites been hammered over the last 6 months (we're averaging at around 500-1000 unique visits a day) - I'm trying to make do with the budget package that we're on but "I'm given her all she's got captain...the whole things gonna blow" etc.

I keep getting warnings from my ISP that the "Bandwidth usage" is high. So it might be that in a few days no one can access the site until the start of the new month.

If this is the case - sit tight - Do Not Panic!! and we'll take a view when we're back up on the 1st Oct. I've been doing a bit of digging this morning on other site providers and there's some very good ones at a few pennies more per month. I will be passing round the begging bowl at some point in the forseeable future as we need to look at funding - I'm not wanting people to throw in shit loads of money but if everyone could spare a quid or 2 it would be appreciated and will fund the site for the next year or so. I'd rather people throw tenners and stuff at the charidee threads (if poss).

Otherwise it'll be a monthly membership of £12.99 for everyone - how's about that for cliquey!! - I am joking.

Just finished editing (the original post) - It would be good timing if people could (paypal logo at the top please - you will be displayed in the list of contributors or you can tick the anonymous box when donating)

Thanks to the person who donated towards the sites funds over the last couple of days - your contribution is welcome and the first one in the pot

"The domain thestranglerssite.co.uk has reached 80% of its bandwidth limit (14199.94/15000.00 Megs). "

when enquiring......

"Hi James,

You are currently on the Professional package - we'd recommend an upgrade to Business (http://www.nativespace.co.uk/uk/hosting ... index.html) for the level of bandwidth you are getting,

Please advise how you would like to procedd,

Regards,

Customer Service Team "

I'm thinking of moving the site to a more cost effective provider to make the funds go further

On a serious note and regarding funding, some of us might want to pay you by cheque. Steel yourself for a few addy related PMs.

Ok, I knew some of your lives would not get through the weekend without the site (mine included!) so I've stumped up the bill for additional bandwidth at an extra £6 a month. The begging bowl was already about to come out so I'd like you all to put your hand in your pocket and donate to the sites funds (use the paypal link above). I'm not asking you for mega bucks an additionl £3 from the regulars would see us through for another year. Some of you visit the site every day/week so £3 for the year is not too much to ask is it?

So far 2 people have donated - thank you very much. We need more. I'm not just asking for the regular posters either there's people that visit regularly that don't always post - unfortunately you are all using bandwidth that needs to be paid for. No money = no site. Sorry to whinge but it's a once a year event. Thanks to those that will donate - you keep the site running

Cheers

Nice to have it back Jim!
Still, it did give me ample time to discover what the rest of the internet is
all about.
Porn mostly, by and large.

Will Paypal pronto!
