err, never having been to Manchester Academy before, I had a wee look at google maps...there's two on Oxford Road. One down near Mancunian Way, and the other a bit further up the road near a Sainsbury Local and opposite whats called the Holy Name church.

Which one am I heading to?

Neither sound right.
If you get to Oxford Rd. just walk along it out of the city. The Academy is on the right about half a mile up. On the other side of the road and just back from it is Jabez Clegg's. That's the boozer we go in before the gig.

.. though the wee pub looks rather acceptable.
