How about The Crown again? Plenty of room, cheap, no-nonsense, a few mins from New St station, 10-15-20 mins walk to the venue depending on fitness/sobriety. And they stuck on loads of Stranglers toons for us. Hopefully that bloke in the shiny suit with the black beard and mane of golden hair will be there again- a kind of parallel universe Ravenlunatic who's been let loose in Burtons with a can of Regaine and a bottle of Timotei.

Let me check it's still open tho'.... never know with pubs these days
