**Dutchess** wrote:"Sort of" in the sense that they are remixed versions, right? Is there a big difference with the originals? (I have probably heard some of those on occasion, Autobahn for certain, but can't really remember...)

Mariet

Yeah, "sort of" as it does have most of the more famous tunes on it, but re-recorded and "updated" (Funkier drums added). I much prefer the version of Radioactivity on it though, with a bigger groove and catchy new begining lyrics.
All together now,
"CHER-NO-BEEL, HARRREEESS-BRRRRGG, SELLLA-FEELD, HERE-OHH-SHE-MAH!"

Kraftwerks lyrics fucken rock!

This reminds me... Recently someone mentioned to me that she had moved to "Curry Street". It took me a while before I realised that she meant "Curie Street" -- a street in my home town, in a neighbourhood where all streets are named after famous scientists

She obviously wasn't a Kraftwerk fan.

You decide!

I think I like the Mix version best, but then of course that's the one I'm used to.
Don't really like the echo thing (Harrisburg-g-g-g, Sellafield-d-d-d) on #3.

Haven't got any of their stuff - had been thinking about Trans Europe Express, but these posts have made me wonder if I should go for Man Machine instead? How do they compare?

One is like a pleasant woodland walk in Spring, just as the air is warming and the bluebells are popping up, and the other is akin to a pleasing stroll along a forest track in November, the air crisp and refreshing.
Both are damn fine in their own way.
Of course, The Man Machine has The Model on it, which might swing it.

Glad to be of help mate.

Hmm!?? Interesting comparison...not the images Kraftwerk usually bring to my mind, but appreciated nevertheless! Maybe I should just get them both. (Only a fiver in Fopp)

I think that would be the wisest, safest option mate.
