Just listen to About to happen from the new album Mantaray and parts of it reminds me of Dave's style...
Sounds like an interesting album

Very strong album. I bought it at Tescos late at night full of beer and on the prowl for munchies. Have played it loads, it's big and loud and has a real Norfolk Coast vibe to it - back on form and enjoying it.

My bruv played me the 'Jools Holland' appearance the other day. Quite enjoyed the 2 tracks Siouxsie performed and I'm now contemplating buying the album.

Anyone else recommend it :?:

Its all a bit...well...hmmm....mellow.

Never been a bit Siouxsie fan. Loved everything on Once Upon A Time, but found other stuff quite hit or miss (mostly miss). On Mantaray her voice is still as hypnotic as ever, but the the songs get mellower and weaker as the album progresses.

Having said all that, I must admit that its a bit of a grower. The more I have listened to About To Happen, Loveless & If It Doesn't Kill You the more I am enjoying them. The latter has been stuck in my head all morning.

I don't see the Norfolk Coast vibe at all. You may be disappointed.

Cheers for the replies.

Never been massively into Siouxsie although I do have a few Banshees albums but no Creatures/solo stuff. Great singles band but I've found the albums to be hard work. Probably why I haven't seen her live since 1981.

Reckon I'll put the new album on me list to Santa though

Yep, they've split up - that's why no Budgie.
Excellent album. It starts off quite punky on the first two tracks, but then settles into more piano or string led tracks. Shirley Bassey could cover some of these!
