Lily Allen Anyone?

Post by Organ Grinder »

Treading carefully here following my open defence of George Michael ealier today  but does anyone else here like Lily Allen? Not bought an album yet but will when I can afford it. Just been checking out the tunes on her myspace and quite like her style - sings wiv an english accent and has plenty of ska influence.

Not a bad dad either.
If Dave was to use a Hammond L100 for just one more gig I'd die content.

I think he was known as 'Jerry Arkwright' wasn't he?
My mate had it on a Stranglers live tape back in the 80's.

Name rings a bell, aye. This reminds me of the only norvurn joke I know....

A northern man's missus dies so he goes to the engraver to get her headstone done

"Ay up lad, I'd like you to write ont headstone 'Here Lies My Gladys. She Were Thine"

Next week he goes back to see the engraver who unviels his handywork. To the northern man's dismay he spots an error. Instead of the above requested lines it says:

'Here Lies My Gladys. She Were Thin'

Annoyed, the northern man informs the engraver that he's missed the 'e' off the line he requested.

"Ya right dozy so and so lad, you've missed 'e' off"

Apologetic the engraver tells northern man to pop back the very next day and the error shall be rectified.

Northern man shows up at the engravers workshop the next day and to his abolute horror finds not one but two errors:

'Here Lies My Gladys. E She Were Thin'

There was an article all about her old man in the weekend magazine of the Daily Mail today.Only skimmed it quickly-what is it they reckon 8 kids by 6 different women? Bit of a 53 year old rebel by all accounts-alot of stuff in there about Lily too.
