This means nothing to me. (I thought I'd get that joke in early, before anybody else does :? )
I tried to make him laugh, He didn't get the joke, and then he said I wasn't right in the head.

I'm actually guilty of playing Ultravox a lot.
Bought Rage in Eden when it was released

Some good stuff you've been buying there.

Been tempted to buy the SACD version of Vienna

I like ultravox they mistakingly get called a "new romantic" group but along with O.M.D and the original HUMAN LEAUGE were never part of that genre..VIENNA RAGE IN EDEN and QUARTET are good albums I'm not a huge midge ure fan solo wise but they contributed to some of the best electropop records of the early 80's

Yeah that's actually a good point - Electropop always seems to have this stigma attached to it. But yeah like you say OMD (check out their radio sessions album), Ultravox and Human League - there's some pretty good stuff there

Saw them on the Vienna tour with a girlfiend of the time.

Very good live and only had whit spolights for lighting,Very atmospheric.

The Voice is a cracking tune and gets regular airings by me.

Been revisiting Ultravox recently - Used to listen to them a lot at the same time I started seriously getting into The Stranglers (when I was about 11). Some really good stuff. Some of the non-singles tracks can be a bit lame though.

Is that Midge laying down the guitar on "All Stood Still"? - that's some commendable work indeed on that track. I love how he lets the feedback hang and he riffs off it.

RAGE IN EDEN is a good album very underrated also the JOHN FOXX era is underrated as well..I agree about some of the album tracks especially some of the instrumentals on VIENNA like MR X are a bit plodding..

Yeah I was thinking of Mr X - They get a bit comical at times - surely they weren't serious about some of it.

QUARTET is worth a listen produced by GEORGE MARTIN with some good singles like VISIONS IN BLUE..

The Sewer The Sewer wrote:Just bought several old CD's and I found an old fav - Vienna by Ultravox. It's got some corking little tracks on there from yesteryear - In particular, Sleepwalk and Western Promise.

I also got More Specials by The Specials, Anthology by Bad Manners, Night time by Killing Joke, Fossil Fuel by XTC and am awaiting Best of Adam and the Antz - Yes I know, but I liked the early stuff up till Kings of the Wild Frontier
I used to listen to Ultravox's Vienna album a lot in the 80s. Still got it on vinyl in fact, but recently got hold of the CD. The first track, Astradine, is definatelly my favourite on that album, although the bass on the next track - New Europeans - is pretty awsome I think...
