Just got to say I had a bit of a crush on Toyah when I was a kid in the 80's, she seemed a bit of a lard arse in Quadrophenia though.
Still, woulda loved to have given her one or maybe even two.
Can't believe she's still with that boring ponce Robert Fripp.
So Al you been there or what? c'mon spill the beans d00d.

I guess the time it takes to fully type it out you could have just found it in Google. No trouble finding GTR but the others may be trickier.gmbh wrote:I to have nevr heard of these bands and would like to know, but why do you igniore questions ?I've heard of Saxon (In me old NWOBHM days) and Steve Hackett, but who are GTR/Good Strawberries/Holy City Zoo??
GTR = ahem... supergroup led by Steve Hackett and Steve Howe. I actually like the LP but some would consider it very AOR melodic 80s rock. A strange thing happened with the singer... he appeared on TVs New Faces of all programmes with one of these songs afterwards. Sssh. Then he also went on to yes you guessed... Mike Oldfield. I then saw him advertised on the 'club circuit'.
The Good Strawberries - a project featuring Joel Bogen from Toyah. Don't know much else about that other than this has prompted me to get the CD again from ebay just now as my first copy has gone the same way as The Damned's Anything... MIA.
The third one has me aswell.

Saw her 2 years ago with The Stranglers at Culzean Castle. To be honest, I was very impressed. Still got a great voice and looks well fit. Ok, I know shes had some plastic, plus she was on the same bill as Kim Wilde who looked exceedingly lardy.Arthur Streeb-Greebling wrote:Just got to say I had a bit of a crush on Toyah when I was a kid in the 80's, she seemed a bit of a lard arse in Quadrophenia though.

Re: Toyah, Toyah, Toyah
Just bumped into this thread just now.
I spent a load of time following Toyah round in 1980 as they came to prominence.
Of course wrapped around the MiBs including seeing them both in Bath at the Pavillion within a few months.
The documentary referred to at the start had the live bits filmed at the Lafayette club in Wolverhampton that led to the live album of the same name as this thread.
bumped into Dennis with Tom that day who talked to me because of the Stranglers logo across the back of my jacket
That gig was the last but one with that line up before wholesale change and superstardom beckoned.
Will say at that time they were raw & tight aswell as being a great laugh.
Awesome live.
Happy days
