Guilty Pleasures

Post by Greenery »

What are your musical guilty pleasures? In the early 1990's there was a singer/rapper named Betty Boo and she had this song called Doin the Do, which I liked...

Yeah I quite liked Betty Boo especially her videos
She was on the box recently on something and she didn`t look too ropey either.

I actually own a few Betty Boo records - you can't beat a bit of 'Boomania!'

Okay, I'm not down with the British lingo - what does "ropey" mean? Is it like "ugly"? Also, is "the box" slang for the telly?

Yeah Betty Boo was cool because she named herself after a cartoon character and never took herself seriously. Also, Doin' the Do had the catchiest tune ever and I think she sampled the bassline in that song from the Wonder Woman theme song. Also, I remember seeing the Doin the Do video - is there a part in the video where she stuffs an old woman's mouth with food? Does anyone have Grrr! It's Betty Boo? On the album cover she looks like Josie and the Pussycats. I heard she is now working as a duo with Graham Coxon from Blur and they're releasing an album.

t.a.t.u.
Yeah I know pretty bad eh?
Loved the first album, really catchy electro pop toonz and The Smiths cover song wasn't that bad either. The fact that they posed as lesbians and kissed & groped each other a lot has got fuck all to do with it. Well that is my story and I am sticking to it.
